What are some good ones to look at? All I seem to find are 15" ones on evo.com

I haven't looked at any before really. I think that it's kind of overkill and a lot of handle to handle (heh) in the end. Like, 15" is a pretty big handle to begin with, what makes you want a 17er?

I am trying some spins and a couple of guides suggested a longer handle is easier for handle passes so I thought I would look into them.

Well, they could be easier before, but you'd need to learn to do them on a fifteen eventually if you just used a seventeen for learning. You should probably just focus on getting a good handlepass rather than paying money for a new handle and less solid riding.
