Hi guys, I'm new to wakeboarding. My family got a 2011 Bayliner 175 this year for our cottage. I didn't really have a say in the brand of boat we got, but our old Bayliner lasted us 26 years so I guess were sticking with one.
Our neighbors have a sick Mastercraft and they're always out on the lake thinking they own it, so that's why I'm getting into wakeboarding lol. Before this year the only water sport I did was tubing, now I'm slalom skiing and kneeboarding. But wakeboarding looks like the most fun.
We don't have a tower, and I don't really plan on getting a tower. My family's all for getting a wakeboard, but I don't think they'd want a tower on the boat.
So now I'm looking to get a wakeboard I want to spend under 300 for the board AND bindings. I'm thinking last year's model of a hyperlite or liquid force. I'm 15, so I'm only 5'6" and about 120 pounds. So I'm not sure what size or anything to get.
Thanks,
Sean |

I personally like Liquid Force. When you go on a site check the sizing guide to make sure you are getting the right size. |

Ronix is hands down the best brand out there. I know a couple guys around my area that are some of the best in the world for their age who ride Ronix boards. They are fairly expensive but you could get a model from a couple of years ago for probably about $400 or $500. I know it seems like a lot but they are amazing boards and will last you practically forever. I Ride an '09 Mana and Cell Boots and they are f***ing amazing! I love them SOOOOO much lol. I will probably never need to buy another board unless I out grew it. The Mana, Ibex or One would be perfect for behind your boat. The Mana has super smooth landings, Ibex is insanely poppy and the One is just an awesome board all around. If you would be planning on doing sliders or something like that eventually I'd maybe look at the Phoenix Project. It's got a little flex to it so it has more of a snowboard feel. Sorry for writing so much but I just can't stress how awesome these boards are I personally will only ever ride Ronix. |
