Hey,
i presume in the US wakeboarding is mostly done behind the boat, here in Europe on the other hand, we mainly ride the cables.
Have your ever tried to ride the cable and if yes, how was it for you comparing to the boat? |

| Ive been riding behind boats for about 4 years and have gotten really used to it. I went to the cable park for the first time ever last week and it was waaaaay different. 1st difference is a dock start vs deep water start. I never fell off the start but it will take some getting used to. After the board was on plane and off the handle was really hard to keep down toward your waist. The corners on the turn are very harsh and pull very unconsistent compared to a boat. It is nice on the straight aways though, very consistant and much easier to ride swich. (probably because my center fins were off) It was a little wierd because all i think about when im behind the boat is hitting that massive wake and see how high and far I can go. At the cable park all there was were these massive ramps about 6' high or higher. Needless to say i did not hit any of those and stuck to a small slider about 6" out of the water. After falling behind a boat you just kick back and relax untill the boat comes back around to pick you up......not at the cable park. This was my least favorite part about the cable park. As soon as you fall you better be getting that board off and getting out of the way. All in all i think they both have pros and cons. If i have my choice i would ride behind a boat everytime. The cable park is the best place to practice new tricks and riding styles though. Lots of falling gets agrivating after a while behind a boat with all the turn arounds and starts. At the cable park it doesnt matter, you are the one who has to walk all the way back. |

Nice reply man. I would agree, it's quite a different story. I would love to spend more time behind the boat, but the cables are more accessible as we have quite a lot of them and you can't really charge with boats in most of the lakes here. I hear you, swimming and walking after falling can get old, but at least you'r doin some cardio |
