With a ollie edge, stand tall, pop off the wake and spin.
Just go try! Crash and burn and learn! |

Try either way, but frontside will be easier to start with.
Can you do a heelside (HS) 180 w2w? |

A couple things to remember you're not trying to spin off the wake. You'll just lose your pop. Take yourself into the air then initiate the spin by pulling the rope to your back hip and I mean your back hip. I tried a 3 last week and I pulled the rope to my back shoulder, it threw me off axis instantly and I belly flopped the opposing wake. Ended my run.
Also maybe try a couple where you just yank the rope to your back hip and let it go, just to get a feel for the spin without worrying about the pass.
Next of course is to work on the handle pass which is what's going to get you for a bit. I've heard for beginners they should work on trying to pass the handle under their ass while leaning slightly away from the boat.
Also make sure to look over your lead shoulder through the spin. You have a tendency to go in the direction you're looking(all people do). |

Enygma pretty much nailed the important part. Don't huck the spin when you get to the wake.
Edge towards the wake heelside, pop up and give a nice pull of the handle towards your back hip. Keep your knees sucked in towards your chest (this helps keep you on axis). Do the first 180 and keep the handle at the hip. When your back is towards the boat let go of your lead hand and reach for the handle. It should be GLUED to your body and easy to find.
Honestly, assuming you get good pop, once you grab the handle all you have to do is spot the landing and you have it. The times I don't land it is because the handle is too far away from my body and I can't get a good grip.
The only advice I can give you is that you can't really half-ass this trick...you need to get good pop so that you have enough time to complete the spin and find the handle during the handle pass. _________________ 141 CWB Marius + CWB Zeus |
