Vice President of client services for an Infomercial media buying agency. We buy and negotiate paid programming time slots for direct marketers like P90x, Your Baby Can Read, Shake Weight, Snuggie, Sham Wow, etc... on TV stations. If it has an (800) number on it, then we pretty much do it. |

Keep at it! Tough economy, no doubt, especially for hobby businesses where discretionary income is all we ever get a small portion of. Reinvest, reinvest, reinvest.
Best of luck!

I have a pretty standard office job as a buyer's assistant for a major retailer. I sit at a desk and work 90% of the time either answering emails or working on spreadsheets, all to keep the area running. Included in all of that is writing orders, tracking said orders, montoring quality assurance, and just generally making sure everything gets done on time and with as little worry to our buyer as possible so he can work on building the business.
The other 10% is the fun stuff like helping build out assortments, desiging products, and very occasionally working with somewhat famous people to rep the items we sell.
I hope soon to go the entrepreneurial route (not full time, just as a side thing for now) but I'm still trying to wrap my head around something like that. I finally have an idea, I just have to figure out how to make it happen and hope people actually take to it .
Oh, and my degree is in Fashion Merchandising. Laugh all you want, but being the only guy out of 81 people on a study-abroad trip was pretty awesome... |
