I'm getting a new 2011 LF Witness board with 2010 Ronix One boots. I've ridden this same same set-up and it seams to work great for me. Only question I have is if I should go for the grind base. I heard it was actually more slippery with the grind base than with out and I like to ride with out the middle fin but less skateboard feel. I only ride the cable once in a while and was probably going to use my old CWB until I get a little better at it so I don't waste the molded fins on my new stick. Any suggestions?

I ride the witness grind on cable and boat all the time. I do ride cable very often so I beat the crap out of my board, but other than a very slight weight difference I do not see much of a disadvantage to just going with the grind version.

Definitely ride without the center fin, with the molded in fins it is about perfect in my opinion. And as far as the difference in feel between the grind and non-grind base, I have rode both and I do not think they feel much different at all since they are the same exact shape.

The base material really won't affect the speed of the board enough to where you will notice it. At worst you may notice a VERY slight weight difference, but you're really just splitting hairs at that point.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought the same since I didn't notice a difference on the Ronix One but I read something about it and wasn't sure.
