I'm installing a depth sounder and I was just wondering if rather than using epoxy can I use 100 percent silicone. Is there anything that I need to know about? tips? ideas? Also this is the mount on transom type rather then shoot thru hull but thats how i am going to install it.
This is what I got..

| You have to use epoxy if you're going through the hull. It needs a good solid surface to read through. |

silicon is to soft. epoxy is just as hard as the fiber glass. if your worrying about being able to take it off, get the kind you mount the the outside of the transom. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

kartman, I just think that would look terrible. I might as well get a giant touch screen fish finder for the wake boat too. lol..
Guess epoxy is the way to go.
All I need to do is make sure to get all the air bubbles out right? _________________ if only i knew better |

| You really want to use slow cure epoxy, if you haven't already done this. Mix it slowly and the slow cure type will help get all the air bubbles out. |
