I'm starting to get comfortable with landing the backroll. Wanted to get some critique on my technique. it's not as smooth as i'd like and I'm not always clearing the wake. appreciate the comments

looks great, but watch yourself as you get about 6t from the wake, your almost totally letting off your edge as you ride up the wake, you should be edging through at that point as you jump

looks pretty smooth to me! haha. the most important thing to remember is to think about your jump first, and then the rotation. you can tell by watching the vid... your 3rd jump i think, you start throwing your head before you're even off the wake. and because of this, you clip the 2nd crest pretty good. charge the wake, delay the rotation, and you should be landing them out in the flats. I know this because i still have to tell myself this sometimes.... Embarassed

And practice makes perfect.

p.s. next time post in "trick tips"

Like the others said, you are putting yourself in a position to start failing. Letting off on your edge and riding up the wake mostly flat will eventually lead to crashes. Honestly if you stay on your edge you will make the trick a ton easier, go bigger and make it more consistent. All good things.

A backroll should be easy, just build a strong edge all the way to the top of the wake and it pretty much completes itself. Getting that squared away will let you start grabbing and/or going to revert.

Hey man, looking good! Check out this vid of my boy doing his backroll at 24sec in. You don't need to cut out to far but you do need a good progressive edge to the top of the wake...do not let off your edge!! Also notice how tall he is throughout the whole trick for good pop and height. Hope this helps, good luck!

I'm just beginning so I can't really critique, but it looks sick. I need to get to that level so I can try tricks like that.
