I had heard rumors of this for a while and it seems like it is official. Lyman is joining the military.
Great rider and good guy. Hate to see him leaving our industry. Hope he gets stationed in Texas someday and drops by the shop. _________________ Wakeskating

Wait, what?
So, assuming this is true...Keith Lyman is totally my favorite rider, and I have always respected his belief in the military, even though I don't share the same feelings. I would never leave the life of a pro wakeboarder to join the military, but I'm really impressed that Keith has the heart to follow his convictions. He's talked about this in interviews for years, and he's even said that he wants to be a special forces operative of some kind. If that's true, he might be out of the wakeboarding industry for quite a long time. Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do. Stay safe Keith! _________________ rally to the wake |

Great for him... Wish him well...
I was so stoked that he was going to ride for Slingshot too... would have been interesting to see what direction he would / could take that company. _________________ When life hands you a Jeffrey just rub the furry walls... |

Ya, it's a huge loss for Slingshot in particular. IMO, he was their most credible representative. _________________ rally to the wake |

Well, they've still the Shredtown guys and Jeff McKee. I think Slingshot will be just fine.
Sad to see him go though for sure. Lyman always went huge. |

Pretty inspiring. I wonder what "badass" stuff he'll be doing. _________________ rally to the wake |

| The military seems to be a passion of his, so kudos for him to make a tough decision like that to leave wakeboarding and move on to the military, especially in the world we live in today and all the wars that are going on. |

Yeah, I saw this on his FB a while back. Must have been right before he left for basic.
Dear friends and fans. Thank you all for the years of support and love. Headed out for a little while to become a man.

MUCH respect. Joining the military and serving our country has been a dream of mine since I can remember as well. But I have no where near the "dream" life Keith had as a pro wakeboarder, and I'm still no where close to having enough courage and conviction to actually pull the trigger. God speed Mr. Lyman. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |

| Glad to hear that actually. I just hope he can maximize his full potential in a military school environment. The testimonials from former military are proof of the excellent standards and results enjoyed by the military. |
