| Firstly my understanding of sound systems and associated terminology is very basic so go easy on me:-) As I often do I jumped into my 08 210 today to pump up the sounds and enjoy some of my favorite tunes from the factory Clarion & Polk audio setup. Since day one the system sounded great to me and has performed flawlessly.....until now that is:-( The sound emitting from the cockpit and tower speakers at low volume was ok, distorted at mid volume and unbearable at a higher volume. What would cause this to happen? (incorrect amp settings, blown amp(s), speakers or faulty head unit/connections??) Also what ado the crossovers do and how do you set these up correctly? Any help is greatly appreciated! |

Sounds like blow speakers if you didn't change any settings on the amp or headunit.
Check to see if somethig on the headunit got pressed, you know like bass boost or and eq setting. I know if i turn on my bass boost on the headunit the quality goes to stuff. _________________ stay clean, like me

stxr racer, Assuming this is all Factory standard, and you've changed nothing I'd start with listening to each speaker individually... It's unliley that all are blown so check each one and see if they are sounding equally sh*tty.
Assuming the are, then they're likely not blown. Next, get yourself a headphone jack to RCA cable and plug your ipod directly in to each amp. Test the sound... if it sounds OK you have a Head unit issue. If it still sounds crappy then you have an amp issue.... _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Thanks man, i haven't changed any of the amp or head unit settings. I will double check the head unit to see if I have accidentally adjusted any of the controls! |
