Having some trouble with my ballast bags and pump I just got.

bags:

pump:

I figured out how to fill the bags. Although the little blue piece in the picture was useless as I couldn't push it down the hole(where the water enters the bag) far enough to screw it on.

I'm not sure how to drain the bags. I'm sure I sound like a moron but can someone give me the 411 about these bags to make sure I'm doing everything right. Looked for a video to no avail.

Please help.

No worries bro. To drain it all you have to do is switch your pump around. Instead of having the plastic pump in the water it will be on the bag. Those old waterbed fittings are pretty fickle. Youll have to work with it to get the fitting to screw on. In the future try to go with FLY Highs bags an tsunami pump. They are alot less hassle and the bags are thick enough you dont need the outer bag.

I have 2 of those same bags, theyre not too bad.

Theres a little piece of rubber, that acts like a valve on the inside of where you fill it. You have to push the blue piece past this so it opens it up, it only bends down in one direction, so try pushing it in at an angle, and then it should screw down. I use a similar blue piece from fly high on mine with a tsunami pump and it works fine.

To drain them just attach the pump directly to the bag with the blue piece, and put the end of the pipe overboard, then with the pump on, press down on the bag to get some water flowing to it, and then it should just pump everything out on its own.

Does any one know if the tsunami pump will work with these bags? I have a $25 amazon coupon so I could get it for $75 bucks.

Let me know!

Thx

Sure does. I went to the lake yesterday to try and drain one of my bags. I pushed the blue piece as hard as I could and still couldn't get it screwed on there.

Not sure what else to do. I'll try one more time with the blue piece when I get off but I might just end up ordering the tsunami pump.
