Well, been on for a day or so and figured now would be as good a time as any to ask some newbie questions. I'm in the market for a boat, and I've narrowed it down to a good new or used wakeboard boat. Now this may sound stupid, but I've never actually been on a wakeboard. All of my employees are avid wakeboarder's and my kids are begging to learn, so I figured it's the best choice. Through all my research, I think I've narrowed it down to either an Axis A22 or a Centurion SV230. I am planning on paying cash for the boat, and only want to do it once, so I guess this is why I'm asking. This boat is not going to be a full time wakeboard boat, about 1/2 of its time is going to be just spending time with the wife and kids on the lake relaxing, so ride is semi important. It's also going to be cold here until June, so no test rides anytime soon, but I would like to know what you think has the best overall value, quality, wake and ride. If you have a better idea, I'll take any advice you can give me. Thanks for any help, and sorry for the newbie questions, I just want to do it right.

| Give SERIOUS consideration to how you feel about the dealer. As with any boat, there is little doubt that you will be coming back for some warranty or service work. |

just an FYI the a22 has less floor space than my 20'6 LSV. (i actually measured both) maybe something to consider. _________________

STANG KILLA SS, This is simply not true. Where are you getting this from? Did you consider the space in the bow and the seating space in the rear or are you simply measure the area where the carpet is? The A22 has a 100 inch beam. What was the beam on the LSV? Wasn't it 95 inches? How about the length? 20'6 vs. 22. Come on now. Also, the OP never said anything about Moomba.
The A22 is a great boat and has tons of room. It feels almost as big as the SANTE 230's that I have owned over the past three years. I've owned Nautiques, Mastercrafts, and a Malibu. I think the A22 is very well built boat that will perform as well as any other boat on the market that costs twice as much. I wish I knew more about the Centurion line to give you a comparison, but I have never ridden behind a SV230. I'm sure it's a nice boat though. I've ridden behind an A22 many times, and it produces one of the best wakes in the industry right now.
I second the comment about considering your local dealer network and who you will have to deal with when or if you have a warranty issue. If you have any specific quesitons about the A22, please let me know. I'll be happy to chat with you or put you in touch with some of my friends that work for Axis. My 2011 A22 should be done and have all of the aftermarket stereo stuff done soon and I'll be posting up some pics on here later. |

Oh man - the 20'6 lsv isn't even close to the A22 as far as space maybe the A20 - Our friends have a 20'6 LSV and we ride in it frequently, its a great boat but cramped compared to the A22. We also have a good friend with a 07 XLV, when parked next to him the A22 is comparable.
I have owned a centurion and it was a great boat for the family I was happy with the boat but not happy with the wake board wake (I did not have a SV230). When we went to purchase a new boat a couple the boats we looked at were the avalanche and SV230, both really nice boats. We demoed the avalanche, then drove the A22. The A22 space, handling and wake board wake are hard to beat for the price, the wake cleans up easily at 15 or 16 mph and can get huge if you want it to (without washing out). It rides well in chop and handles great when weighted. If you are really into surfing I would probably take a harder look at centurion. The Malibu dealer close to us are great guys... their post sales support is as good as their pre sales this made the purchase a no brainer. |

Like Ed and Chattwake, my family and I have been thrilled with our A22. Our situation sounds similar to yours, where a lot of the use has not been wakeboarding. Plenty of room, and has been great to us so far.
I too am surprised that the LSV would be mentioned as being roomier than the A22. Other than looking at one in the showroom and deciding it was too small, I haven't spent much time around the LSV. I have however spent time in and around an '09 XLV GG, and the A22 is about as roomy. |

This is exactly the information I was looking for. I have read several posts about the A22, and it seems to have everything I need and at a price point that I feel comfortable with.
jjaszkok, when just cruising around, how comfortable is the ride? not a bunch of wind up here, but the lake is busy and gets choppy, so I don't want to get beat riding in it.
Chattawake, I've read several of your posts and appreciate your knowledge here. Thanks for the post and I may contact you for more information on Axis. We do have a local dealer here, but they have no inventory in stock, so I'm looking at boats in other parts of the country to buy. _________________ 2011 Axis A22 Vandall Edition - Black on Black |

| Alli_Gator, we have moderate boat traffic chop on our lake most days. I think that the worst that I have been in is 1.5-2 foot swells and high winds and it handled it just fine. Without ballast you can definately feel it, so I've taken to filling the ballast a bit if I am out in rough water. Most wakeboard specific boats seem to ride a bit (and sometimes much more than a bit) rough in chop. It's definately smoother than some of the others that I've been in. |

Perfect, I'm not expecting it to ride like a Cuddy Cabin, but didn't want it to ride like a flat bottom river boat... The Axis is looking more and more like the boat we're going to get. _________________ 2011 Axis A22 Vandall Edition - Black on Black |

| We went to the Dallas boat show a few weeks back looking for a new boat. We've had a Mastercraft for about 7 years so it was time to upgrade. We compared the Moomba, Malibu, Mastercraft and Axis. The Axis at the show won us over. This past weekend we test drove and loved everything about it. Simple to operate and the wake is awesome . Interior on the water felt really big like a 23ft. We ended up buying an all black 22 that the local dealer had in stock (Waterski America these guys are great).Chattwake I don't know you but your posts have been a great help..... Thanks |

| JordanC, thanks bro! Does you boat have graphics on it? Seems like I've looked at that one on line before. If you need anything for that boat, or have any questions about sacs, stereo stuff, trailer stuff, etc., lmk. I'd love to see some pics of your rig. |

That one with the standard motor should be mid 50's. It really depends on the dealer. I've seen some sell for 53-60k.

| Also, every boat is different, and it depends on the small options that are added or deleted (like a heater, etc.). Those also drive up the price of the boat quick. I did not take a detailed look at the options on that boat. |

Now all I need is summer to come quicker... I'm already thinking about taking a road trip somewhere warmer to try it out. _________________ 2011 Axis A22 Vandall Edition - Black on Black |
