Getting to TSR, Advice from Locals?

I'm going to a wedding in Austin in a few weeks and would love to try and hit TSR while I'm there, problem is though, I won't have a car.

Any suggestions for getting to TSR from downtown Austin to ride for half a day? Some kind of bus-route, someone happen to be going that way and let me hitch a ride, etc?

I'll be in town the 3/30-4/3 but was hoping to figure out how hit the park on the afternoon of the 30th after my flight gets in (late morning arrival), I've got wedding stuff to do basically the rest of the time Im there so that's my only real free day.

you will pretty much need a ride. TSR is a ways away from where you will be in downtown Austin.

I live in South Austin but boardstop is way north. If you do not have a ride by then let me know on the 28th or the 29th.. maybe I can get you down there before I head up north to boardstop. You might be on your own getting back or have to wait until really late for me to pick you back up. But I might be able to swing that for a 896 post count wb.com'r.

GnarShredd, There are also these "Go Cars" around town that let you use smart cars. I think you have to sign up for their website or something? I don't know how it works, but it might be a good way to get there. Although, I don't know how great smart cars are for the interstate.

Actually, now that I think about it. It is possible that I will be in town for that week. I have just been making these plans. If I am I would definitely give you a ride down for a set at TSR, so I'll keep you posted.

Also, your profile says winch and cable under "Boat:" do you ride boat at all? Because if I don't have time to make it down to TSR, and you have no way to get there we could always shred my boat.

savage3221, Thanks! I haven't ridden boat in about 2-3 years (except maybe for one 15 min. set last summer). I'm familiar with riding behind a boat and really familiar driving, but I still kinda suck at riding Cool

I won't have any gear with me at all (was planning on renting at TSR) and am kind of a big guy (6'3", 210lbs). Let me know either way, if you can hit the cable or not, I'm sure I'll be up for whatever.

We have a demo day at the Hula Hut on Saturday. I will have a boat Sat after the demo if you want to ride on Lake Austin. I might be able to pull that off..

savage3221, Yeah, I was just about to PM you. If all goes well with travel I should be at my hotel around 11:30 or so on Wednesday and will have the rest of that day free, Thursday and Friday are kind of up in the air right now but I think the only days I'll really be able to go would be Wednesday afternoon and maybe Thursday.

flixmaster, Thanks for the offer. I'm going to a wedding Saturday so that whole day is pretty much going to be dedicated to that. Really apprecaite it though!

GnarShredd, I hope the rest of your time in Austin/the wedding went well. It was cool to meet and ride together. You got a pretty great day at TSR, no lines is a rarity.

savage3221, Yeah man, it was one of the best weekends ever. I left with some great stories after a few nights out, haha. Thanks again for everything, TSR was an awesome way to start off the trip. Shot you a faceweb request already.
