For weeks now we haven't been able to ride in anything less than chop due to constant 10-20 mph winds here in Mississippi. So whoever down in the Gulf turned on the gigantic wind turbine pull the plug on that thing. I have taken more hard skull rattling falls this month than all of the last couple of summers combined. About all we can do is surf right now. Anybody else tired of this wind?

Its been windy as hell up here in VA too. Luckily where we ride is protected for the most part, but last week I had a 30+ mph headwind for one stretch of the cove. The boat spray was nailing me in the face and it was so choppy and such a strong wind I could barely clear the wake.

I hate wind.

Kiteboarding has actually crossed my mind lately. I mean seriously this stuff is annoying. You could kiteboard from one end of the Ross Barnett Rez to the other right now. Gusting about 25-30 today. Pretty weekend forecasted but with 10-15 mph winds again. Son of a......

I picked up kiteboarding this year, equipment just coming in now. Been riding on Jason SSR's setup thus far. Definitely worth the learning curve!

Setup is going to cost me about $1,200 when all is said and done, but that's with some excellent deals. 2 kites, bar/lines, harness, board, bindings.

Right now I would take the wind. I board on Kentucky Lake and we have been getting slammed with rain, hail, tornadoes, everything for like a week and half, non stop. We are breaking flood records that date all the way back to 1937. I'm tempted to take my board out to the creek behind the house and just ride the current, it would be plenty fast. Problem is that if I ever fell, I'd be dead for sure.

Wow! That's a great deal. What year/sizes are the kites? I wish I could afford a second one for light wind days.

yep, been extremely windy, rainy, and stormy here in TN for the last week and a half as well. This storm system in the southeast right now has been slamming us hard like Maddog10 said. At least the lake is up Laughing

At least it's warm enough for you guys to get out and go board! I'm in SW Michigan, the inland lake I ride on has been steady at 48 degrees, but the air hasn't been over the low 50s in weeks. We're usually already up to 65+ by this time of the year and so far have had only one day of 65+ degree weather. Don't mind the cold water, but that coupled with the cold air makes it painful!

looks like we might get a break this weekend with some less than 15mph winds, we have had to deal with flooding, tornadoes, and wind non-stop for several weeks, a town of 900 near where i grew up in NE Miss. was wiped off the map by an F4 Nader yesterday, same one that hit Tuscaloosa, an entire school district campus gone in east central Miss., and now the MS River is about to crest in the next couple of weeks to levels close to that or higher than the 1927 great flood, our poor state has taken a complete beat down and is about to get kicked while we are down, going to be hard to enjoy the lake this weekend with those people affected going through my mind, be kind and say a prayer for all the victims of the storms yesterday, it is truly a catastrophic event with another about to follow
