It looks like the average temperature in Dallas for March is quite a bit higher than it is up here in central KS. Can people in the area give their opinion on the lakes around Dallas and whether it's worth a 6 hour pull to Texoma or somewhere for a 3-day weekend or so? Thanks.

Texoma is a cool lake, I've only been up there a few times on party weekends, but we've always managed to find a cove somewhere for some boarding with a decent wind-block.

We see 80s for most of March but the water is still pretty cold. I'd say full-suit is probably right for most of March, getting into a heater-top in April and trunks in May.

As far as whether that's worth it, I'm not sure, I've never spent much time in KS, and not on the water, other than KCW.

There are also some really nice lakes in Oklahoma if you don't want to drive quite that far. I'm not sure what the temps are exactly, but I'd guess between our temps and yours. Broken Bow is a popular travel destination for people around here.

I've heard good things about Texoma but haven't been down there yet. There's a few cool small lakes around OKC that are decent that would shave 2.5-3 hours off the drive. I'm not sure how much of a temperature difference there would be between Texoma and the OKC area.

The Farmer's Almanac long range forecast has the midwest getting another blizzard in late March. If that's true I'm going to have to tow somewhere warmer to cure my boat fever!

Thanks for the info so far.
