This is a custom wrap design I did for a client of mine. Really pleased with how it came out. You can see more detail pics here: www.dickiejones33.com.
Let me know what you think,

hey thanks for the kind words. I had a lot of fun working on this.
the tower was wrapped with an orange carbon fiber wrap. client was originally going to get all of the accents powder coated black, which would have been really cool. but in the end he went with the orange carbon fiber look.
i was only responsible for the design work, but the wrap is just like any other full wrap out there. with the opportunity to do a full wrap, i started from scratch sketching both sides out before moving to the computer. that way I can say that all of the work is custom. the only exception was the logos and the front plaid pattern supplied by the client. i also do not use out of the box fonts in my work. i either draw custom letters or base the letters off of a current font.
this is the original type I wanted to use:http://dickiejones33.com/bookoflions/wp-content/themes/33/images/type/type_1.jpg. client choose the current one.
i would love to do more wraps whether they are this intricate or not.
if you want to see more there are a ton of pics from the photo shoot here: http://relmone.com/nautique/
thanks again everyone!

WOW... that is impressive... what is the deal with wraps? How long do they last? Cost? _________________ '08 Mobius LS |

@chawk610 - i'm not fully sure on the cost of a custom wrap. i know its in the ball park of 1k-3k depending on the company. I've seen information on different websites about the wraps having UV protection and durability for a number of years. I do know that they should be taken care of and not left in the weather... but that seems like something that you would do with your boat anyway.
the wrap market is starting to grow and its slowly getting more affordable and more companies are doing it, nation wide and local.
I handle the graphics end of it, focusing on one off custom designs. I create the graphics and send the files off to whatever company is handling the physical application of the wrap. in the case of this boat there were separate files for both sides and the transom.
hope that helps _________________ Chris Spann

It does... but one more question... when the wrap degrades... does it ruin the original design underneath? Like... once you get a wrap... you always have to have a wrap? _________________ '08 Mobius LS |

@chawk610 - i honestly do not know much about the wrap process. I'm more of a freelance graphics guy. I would assume that it could be removed and the boat cleaned up to its original state, but that's only my assumption.
You would have to ask a wrap company for the details. I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. _________________ Chris Spann

It dosen't not harm what is below the wrap. It will look the same as it did before the wrap went on. _________________ www.shredthreadsink.com |
