the Dutch Winch

So my brother and i have been building a winch, and actually used it 2 times now. it works awesome and stands really stable. i will make some good pics tomorrow and tell you all about the build, for now i have only 2 pics of the spool, unpainted.. consider it a small teaser.






we have made a jig for the frame, plus an extra frame and spool so we will be selling them for cheap in our country, to help build the winching movement!

I'm sure you know I've built many winches, trust me on this advice, move the engine so that your sprocket will align and fit between the pillow blocks, currently your chain and sprocket are the outermost components on the side which is dangerous and can be damaged, otherwise rock on bro

yeah, as far as that goes: we built the frame first but then decided to go with a bigger engine we'll make a chain/sprocketguard for this one, like i wrote.
for the rest, this winch works frickn awesome, really stable. We'll be building a few more on demand, which will have the chain on the inside! but this one is for me, so i didnt really care to go and make another frame..

soooo, i was supposed to go winching all fall long, but i rebroke my wrist really badly 2 weeks ago.. surgery next week and then a few months recovery time.. i'll be back in spring..

yup.. and i JUST bought all my stuff to start up snowboarding again. didnt ride a snowboard in nearly ten years, booked a trip for january and bought all my stuff.. felt so sick to be on the board again!! and now i have to cancel our vacation..

Kinda funny we once met years ago while you were stuntriding on a parking lot near a McDonalds somewhere in Rotterdam. Still checking your Vimeo vids regularly, love that stuff!

cool! our winch is fully operational, used it for wakeboarding and snowboarding, it rocks!
so, cool! we met!? its been a few years since i've been to that parking lot (spijkenisse, or the kuip? both are busted..) we ride in dordrecht and capelle a lot now..
also gotten a lot better since those days haha!
