Ok so the story is, Was having a crappy day at work today then get a random call from the USA -

'hey are you still coming over next year?'

'yeah whys that?'

'oh my friend thats the surgeon, shes organising a scuba diving yacht trip to the abaco islands for us and a few of our girlfriends and wondered if you would want to come??

'hmmmmmm, let me think about that'........... Shocked

So anyways I couldn't care less if it was a dump but it looks pretty special!
just wanted to share and see if anyone has been there before??

Skwake, I've been there before. Its a great place, its not too resorty...however I only spent a day or so on the island since I was on a small yacht. I was able to go to probably 3 great snorkeling reefs that were around the island. Also if you get the chance there are some great islands in the area to hop around on with great local restaurants and scenic views. The water is incredible too. Looking to be this coming June or July. If the dates work out then I'm going to be there for sure! That is if I get time inbetween Visiting pretty much everywhere from Cali to Florida again Very Happy

...You know one day I might actually go and see a bit more of Australia, but thats no where near as much fun!

My uncle likes to take his yacht there and knowing his taste it is a really nice area. Also knowing his taste it is probably fairly expensive.

the abacos is a big area. Where are you going specifically?

Not too sure to be honest, Just got the call saying that they were planning a trip somewhere there for 8 nights on a 56 footer or something. Supposed to be about 1k all up which is cheap compared to anything like that in Aus.
