Yup, same here. Hate this time of year. Especially when everyone on the SB'ing forums from PNW, Cal., and Co. are posting pics of all the dumps going on out there.

kartman did you ever pick out a new set up? Just wondering what you got.

i picked up some 09 burton customs from a pawn shop for $20, and im getting ready to order a DC BDR 159 either today or tomorow when i sell my extra season pass. im thinking of taking my spring board out to the park and using my winch to get some pulls in since we have 2" on the ground here. Customs for $20, that's a smokin deal. '09 must be pre-EST? Or did you get conversion discs?

didnt win the rome flag. lost the auction by $2.50. so now im looking at either a rome agent 160, rome crail 159, capita stairmaster 159, or the dc bdr 159. not sure which one to buy. any advice any one? wanting one thats good on groomers, powder, and will work good to start learning the park.

Right on man. The new ics/est doesn't seem like a great idea.... I have no idea on the decks you are looking at. I do know that Rome and Capita make solid boards. This time of year you are gonna have a hard time finding deals.

I'm working at a pretty big snow shop right now (http://tactics.com). Name dropping aside, let me attempt to help you out with some of the knowledge I've picked up in the last few months.

If you want something that's going to be great on groomers and powder I'd highly recommend picking up a Mervin (Lib Tech, GNU) deck with reverse camber and magne traction. The reverse camber boards are going to be awesome in the pow because the rocker will float your deck up and help keep you from going over the nose. If you can find a used skate banana on ebay then snag it for sure, it's a pretty big favorite by guys around the shop as a sort of jack of all trades deck (just really fun everywhere you take it).

Capita and Rome do make good products, out of the decks you mentioned I believe the only rocker board in the lineup that you mentioned was the Rome Agent, so that's probably the way I would lean towards given the kind of riding you want to do.

I do think personally that the hybrid rockers (rocker between your feet camber under them) are going to be the main future of the snowboard industry for awhile at least.

Just my two cents worth.

Dragon - looking for some EST bindings to match up with a Custom Flying V. Do you recommend Cartel, C02, or missions? And why?
