I just bought an O'Neil Reactor. Fits well, doesn't ride up in the water, looks good (that's a bonus), & plenty of protection up front (not that I've got that much to protect, but oh well Wink ).

I've got the Ambush, got it from buywake.com and really like it. Fits great, and it very thick.

anyone have a Venus (liquidforce) vest? i want it for 2 reasons...its approved and its purple. i know the 2nd reason is no reason it pick a vest but i really have no idea whats to look for when picking out a vest. I'm not worried about how cushy it is in the front I dont have big boobs so there isnt much to protect. i just need it to float...and thats about it i guess. anything else i need to look at when picking out a vest? or is that about it? I'm currently useing Jason's old unapproved vest and i really like it. its really comfy and light...the only reason i want an approved is so that i dont have to worry about the water cops getting bent out of shape.

I have the O'Neil assault. Got it last year. It is all black and fits great. My only compliant is that my boobs kind of squeeze out of the sides by my pits.

There really isn't any USCGA vest that I have been able to find that is comfortable.
If you have a larger upper half , it feels very bulky.
Jet Pilot runs larger than Oneill and Body Glove.
The only one that I have found comfortable is the Oneill Outlaw, which is NonUSCGA

I agree. So frustrating....I bought an O'Neill Siren because it had plenty of room for "the girls" but it's sooooo bulky. Mad

I've used the Assault, Throttle, Reactor, and Outlaw. Out of those the most comfortable for me was the Throttle. I just got a Vapor the other day that I'll try out this weekend. One thing I notice about the Vapor is it's got more rib padding than the our other vests. I could also hardly tell I was wearing a vest when I tried the Vapor on.

I have the same vest too. Do you notice that the shoulders kind of ride up while you are in the water? I have been noticing that lately on mine. I don't know if it is just irritatiing or if you can actually see and it looks funny. Sometimes the vest will rub on my chin. Sad But overall, the fit is nice and snug.

You're using the Assault vest as in men's vest, or the womens version the Siren. The arm holes on the mens vest are way bigger. That could be why its raising up off your shoulders. I've only had that happen in one vest, and that was a size to big for me.

That's the thing I hate about men's vests - every one of them that I've worn has ridden up because of the armholes. Drives me nuts. My Reactor is a women's & it's the first vest that I've had that doesn't ride up like that when you're in the water.

The women's vests are alot shorter in the torso aswell. That helps keep them in place

That would totally make sense. This whole time I thought I had a female vest. No wonder. Well, I guess I will be in the market for a new vest soon. This one works but with all the riding I am doing, I want more comfort and less fidgeting.

You shouldn't have any problems like that with a womens specific vest. We completely redesigned the Siren vest this year. Added a built in lumbar support, resized the the arm holes, We also used a segmented foam core this year that eliminated some of the bulk and made it a little easier to move around in. I better quit I feel the salesman coming out in me Mr. Green
