I have tried the heelside backroll over 30 times, EVERY time I make the roll fine, sometimes even over rotating, but I land so far back that I either land on my back edge and the handle is jerked out of my hands or I land with the board so far out in front of me that I land on my but. When I come around the board is not under me when I land, but out in front? TIPS???????????? [/url]
1: Start by not edging out so far.
2: Maintain your edge into the wake, it looks like you're letting off edge a few feet before the wake.
This is a load and release trick. Really drive the rear leg into the wake, this will force the flip and rotation.
Can you w2s from your switch side? Noticed you just rode back across, need to nail that down bro.
thanks for your help, I will try it again tonight.
I can w2w switch pretty solid, I just rode across this whole day b/c I just want to nail the roll. I have thought a lot about it, feels like I might be doing a back flip instead of a roll, that is why my board lands out in front of me all the time??? not sure.

Next time make sure you get the WHOLE move on vid, including the approach because that's where it goes wrong.
As far as I can see you're not using a progressive edge at all. Seems like you start out too wide, start edging in aggressively and then indeed come off your edge before the wake. Progressive edge dude, that's where it's at! Start your edge in really really slow and concentrate on edging only within the spray line, hard.
Good luck! _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica
I landed it yesterday! So pumped! I went at the wake so much slower, then really cut hard as I approached, still landed way out in the flats, perfectly clean! Nothing like wakeboarding on Halloween in Washington...only boat on the water.
Tuesday night felt great, Wednesday...terrible, what a joke. I have a heavy waterskiing back ground and progressive edge is something I have to get used to. I am used to putting the hammer down as I round the buoy, I crashed hard 8 times, then watched the video later...terrible! PROGRESSIVE EDGE...
sounds like you figured it out, but FYI in the video you got off your edge. Nice pop, but really that means little for the trick. Stay on edge and you can land that trick off an 88 ski supreme in 4 feet of water with no weight.
