What do ya'll think about Gator Boards? And what do you think of my setup here? Im paralyzed below the waist and have been getting into wakeboarding alot this past year. I love the water and nothing could keep me from it!!

That is awesome. I have nothing but respect for disabled people getting out there and showing everyone up.

Have you ever heard of air chairs? I've seen those out on the lake too, not sure if those are any better than your setup.

yeah, same thing. and thats a cool idea, i just dont think id be able to stay sitting up while being pulled by the rope from the boat. If I could find somebody around my area with one I would definitely try to use it and see what happens.

yeah, those things look sick! but how much do you rely on your legs keeping you up? how much pull does it have on your upper body. See I have no abodmen control from my belly button down.

So like when Im riding my board my knees are to my chest and Im using all my shoulder and upper back muscles to stay up.

Thanks on the sig!

Where does your buddy ride? does he ride often?

Im new to it but Im trying to figure out how to do air tricks, Ive messed around doing surface tricks but I need more. Plus i still need more practice on getting up out of the water, it is extremely hard for some reason sometimes.

Ive seen some videos of this guy in the Netherlands and he does some cool stuff, and Ive tried to talk to him, but his English sucks!!

I don't use my legs at all really just when i'm jumping i pull up on my toes....you can move the sky ski up and down simply by moving your arms up and down if you have your body weight in the right position...once your up there really is no pull on your body...almost feel like flying...i think you could definitely get the hang of it with practice

Nice! I like the video from the other thread. It's great seeing someone figure out how they CAN do something instead of just saying that they CAN'T.

do you have a ski training rope? i think that might help you in getting up consistently. it has a big v for you to keep the tip/nose up straight in the water.

I think his name was CC Roberts.

There was some video or an article of him riding a setup like that. If I am not mistaken I think he hit a rail or something on it too. Very inspirational.

I used to drive the boat at an annual disabled skiers camp at Variaski (a club) in Groningen (town) in the Netherlands. Fckng amazing; blind people hitting the ramp and slalomming, dudes with one arm or leg skiiing better than I ever did or will do, and guys just like yourself on a wakeboard. One was getting pretty good at it, can't remember his name but might be the same one you're talking about. What's his name?
Awesome man, keep ripping!

speedLINER, we/he rides up in Michigan. He just likes to ride, doesn't really try any tricks. Its not a modified wakeboard, more like a fat ski with a seat similar to yours.
