Hey guys, I had lasik done 5 weeks ago. Before my surgery the doc said that i had to wait 4 weeks before wakeboarding again. I had my month checkup and she said everything was perfect, but then she said i couldnt get in the lake for another 2 weeks but didnt say why.
She told me she doesnt like any kind water at all and doesnt want me getting in it. I seached around and most people said they just had to wait a month. She makes it out to be like i will never be able to ride again. Any advice?
Thanks |

Doc told me 2 months. I did it in January for a reason.
They are worried about getting an infection in your eye before the flap has fully healed. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

This. Everyone has their own theories on how long that period is. You can go whenever you want, but if your eye were to get infected and you lost the eye or went blind you'd probably wish you'd waited the extra two weeks. Just follow the doctor's orders-it is only 2 more weeks. _________________

Well it's not really about theory. I think it's more about the fact that each individual has different healing times. If you had Lasik, then bear in mind they've made a flap in your eye lense, s it might be this that is taking a little longer to heal and reset itself.
If you were to go before the recommened time, take a face plant or eyelid flipper, then you could damage your eye as it's not yet totally healed. _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |
