So just to get some input from more experienced riders than myself, at what point does a wakeskate get too light? Or if you tend to like a heavier board, at what point does it get too heavy? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

A lot of this is personal preference. I, for one, prefer a heavier board in the 11lb range and usually don't like a new board until it's waterlogged a bit and gains some weight. I've always ridden wooden skates though so that's what I'm used to.

On the other hand, some people prefer a lighter deck made from composites in the 8lb or less area.

Bi-level wooden skates can come in at aroud 14lbs or so. They're beastly, but I like em! (I ride a regular wood concave though, bi-levels break too easily.)
