water logging

Is there anyway to help keep boots from getting water logged over time? My 08 murrays lasted well.. till last weekend never noticed how much they were laden down until I picked up some 2010 bindings..

So other than keeping them in a dry environment, is there a way to keep materials they use from soaking up gatuitous amounts of water over time?

I want thermodynamic properties!
