Hi, just got into the sport, in fact, so new my board is still in the shrink wrap on my living room floor. Anyways i'm doubting my purchase and wanted to know if anyone can help. From what I gathered on this forum someone who weighs 170-175lbs shouldn't go anywhere near a 136cm board. However, LF recommended weight on their witness 136 says it's ok for riders to be 100-180lbs (wow pretty wide range). So the question is what should i do? Excange or keep? Plan on riding cable exclusively and have a good handful of experience in other board sports. Please help.

depends on the board alot, if its a wide board it should work fine for ex, a 138 ronix ibex has more surface area then a 142 ronix one. i dont know much about cable, but if you ride parks alot all i can suggest is a bord with a sintered base.

I weigh 185-190 and ride a 135 from time to time, the size guidelines are just that, guidelines.

I personally wouldn't return it, but it comes down to your riding style and if you like a larger board or not. Definitely not something to stress about IMO.

I'm 185 6'3" and I ride a LF Witness 136 and it rocks. I love this board. I came from a 140cm and its really all about the board and how you feel on it. I demo'd 6 boards this summer, and loved this one. Just ride it and see how it feels, really try to get to know the board, and if you dont like it, take it back.

Boostking, you are correct, this board does rock. I rode my 136 witness last weekend and no doubt feel like i made a good buy. It floated me well and was very fast on the water. My first time at the cable (and first time wakeboarding) went pretty good. Going again tommorow, thinking about widening my stance with a little more rotation on the boots. Also, generally speaking, with a wider stance, will the nose tend to "dig" in the water?

general rule of thumb..start with your bindings as wide as they go and if you need to make an adjustment in, ok but the name of the game is swing weight and there's less of it the wider your stance is.
