Hey everyone... been working at it every chance I get. I am getting up and pretty much staying up everytime now. Trying to get the feel for "edging" I got outside the wake on Sunday which was really cool... but had the faceplant of my life going back over it! Got water under my eyelids even...actually still have a small dull headache Do I need to have weight on the back foot coming back over? Nose of the board above the water? |

Good to hear you are doing well. I got the lovely feeling of water under the eyelids a few weekends ago, awesome
When I'm edgeing through the wake I do keep a little more weight on my back foot. I actually pull up a little with my front foot just before I go over. _________________

oh... ok... didn't do that at ALL! Ok... soon as I locate new bindings I will get back to it! I ripped both off... but they were O'Briens...apparently they suck. _________________ '08 Mobius LS |

I've been seeing a lot of threads on O'Brien bindings this year. Seems their quality is getting worse?? Or maybe just more people buying them _________________

Could be... but I am really entry level, and am not doing anything drastic... _________________ '08 Mobius LS |

| The only tip I try to give people when they're trying to get back and forth over the wake is don't take your time doing it. it's very unstable trying to ride slowly around on the wake when you haven't figured out your balancing. do your best to make a small charge at the wake and just absorb it with your knees to prevent a jump. |

What Enygma said. Similar to slalom skiing, you just have to rush the wake and anticipate with your knees. Lean against the line and stay on edge. _________________ --JohnnyV |

Agree with Enygma as well. One other thing that helped me at the beginning was to avoid riding "flat." I would try to always be on one edge or the other, even if only a very slight edge, to avoid being flat. I found that riding flat for too long would lead to me catching an edge because I would slide out sideways without wanting to. _________________

Oh really... how do ride on an edge without turning that direction? _________________ '08 Mobius LS |

The issue with riding flat in the centre of the wake is the water is full of air from the prop of the boat and is unpredictable and unstable. It sounds crazy, cause the water looks choppier outside of the wake, but you'll have a much easier time leaning to edge outside of either wake. _________________ --JohnnyV |
