Ive been wakeboarding on my boat for a long time and my friends and i have gotten pretty good but all we have is old ski rope with a small handle to use. The grip on the handle is about to fall off, the rope is fraying in a few spots and we want a bigger handle anyway for easier handle passes. I know everyone uses the dyneema or spectra and when i go on other boats with better ropes it seems to help.

But i wanted to know what you guys have to say about your rope and if you knew of any cheap places to get a rope. so please help me out.

I bought an Accurate X-Line/Chamois handle combo. It is honestly the best money I have spent on gear. Those old rubber grip handles would tear my hands to shreds, and this new one is so soft and comfortable, and plenty wide enough. I had been using what was called a "wakeboard" rope back in the days of braided ski ropes. Only 55 feet long and stretchy as heck, had to drive under 20mph to make the wake wide enough for smooth w2w. It's so much easier to ride at 70 feet with a little more speed. You can check places like boardstop.com, barts.com, the-house.com, evogear.com, pretty much anywhere even Amazon. You don't have to go super expensive, but spectra/dyneema is definitely the way to go.

How does the chamois hold up on the accurate handle?

I got what I thought was a good deal on a coated line and handle combo last year. The handle lasted 2 weeks before the grip started falling apart, got a replacement through warranty which lasted 2 days before it started to fall apart. Rather than paying to send it back through warranty I went out and bought a new chamois wrapped handle from a different brand. It's only been about 4 months and the chamois wrap is completely trashed. Anyway, I've been through 3 handles in less than one year, so, if anyone else has any recommedations for a handle or rope handle combo I'd love to hear them as well.

I have no idea how many actual hours I have on the handle, but it's been used by 3 or 4 people for 2 months now and it's fine. It looks like a chamois that wiped up a carpet or something...a couple scuff marks from friction because I instinctively put on gloves the first time out which actually made things worse. My old handle was so trashed you needed gloves to get a grip on it.
