| Locations that can support street events and have enough water to wakeboard on close to the games are hard to come by. Also getting enough butts in the seats is difficult. Ever been to a wake competition? It's awesome if you know the tricks, but if you've never seen or done it the tricks all look the same. "Oh look here comes another competitor... and he's spinning like a top... and there's another spin... wait for it... and there's another spin!" |

I guess, i wish there was more coverage on wakeboarding on TV, it would help wakeboarding grow so much in areas where it isnt as popular T.T |

| Im guessing there are threads on here that discussed this...seems to be a yearly topic. Basically the long beach marine stadium is too far from everything else |

I don't watch much tv anymore, but that's actually how I learned about this sport. I was 14 (11 years ago), saw it on tv and thought it looked like so much fun I couldn't wait to try it.
My family was fortunate enough to have a cabin on a lake so my parents helped me get a board and off I went. I agree that having it on tv would help spread the stoke more _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

EXACTLY THIS!
However, now that we have system2.0, I don't think this should be a problem anymore. You can sit just as close to wakeboarding now as you can skateboard vert or park.
Someone just needs to take the initiative to get things started with a fresh take on the sport. Run 2 system2.0's next to each other in a jam-session format like they did for skateboard park and I think you'd have a winner. If someone falls on the first cable, then the next rider will start on an identical course on the second cable while the first person clears the other course and go on like that. It'll keep things moving too so the event stays interesting/exciting for those new to the sport .
While i generally hate the x-games, it'd be good exposure for the sport and show everyone that wakeboarding is A LOT more than just being pulled behind a boat. |
