When heavily involved in any sport, it is easy for those that are hardcore about the sport to recognize newbies. Truth is all riders like to see new guys/girls come out and ride…. I mean why wouldn’t we wanna see the sport grow, but then we get stuck riding behind you (newbies) and you ride down the center of the lake without hitting any obstacles lap after lap!!!!! Trust me when I say this, if you are doing this and catching dirty looks or hearing the occasional profanity yelled behind you haha, it is not because the person is making fun of your ability or wanting you to leave. The riders are simply irritated that you are making it damn near impossible for them to catch a good line at any of the obstacles….
What do you do????
The answer is simple, just take lines close enough to the obstacles so that by the time the next person gets their, your wake has already passed the obstacle by (don't cut at the obstacle abruptly either, this will cause bad wake as well). Everyone out at any cable lake is fairly laid back (with the exception of the occasional D*&K head, and are usually just their to chill and ride, not start drama…. SO, whether you have been at a cable and caught dirty looks, sighs, etc. or haven’t hit a cable and are looking for tips, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THAT YOU CAN FOLLOW TO ensure a good time, and allow everyone else to have their fun too. ITS BASIC RIDER etiquette!!!!! _________________ Wakeskating and Wakeboarding are Lifestyles, not just hobbies!
