|
|
| So we were out this weekend at our regular riding lake in our wakeboarding cove switching riders at around 7p.m.. When out of nowhere a herd of SeaDoos comes riding through there. The rope was wound up and in the boat while the other rider was getting in his board in the water. He got ready and asked for the rope and i threw it to him. And here comes a stupid SeaDoo right over the top of the rope. Any of you that know, seadoos are the devil when mixed with a rope. Long story short, Idiot sucked up 25 feet of my BRAND NEW Accurate X line. I figured that it just might be possible to salvage it if I was the one doing the extraction so we towed the idiot to the dock. Loaded him on his trailer.(by now it is about 8:15) pull up the ramp and I started working on it. got it all out of there at around 8:45p.m and made him put his seadoo back together because we had riding to do. Brand New $120 Accurate X line+ Idiot on a Seadoo= one ruined rope. By the time we got back on the water the sun had already went down and we got NO MORE RIDING DONE. I WAS PISSED. |

| That would piss me off simply because it sounds like he went between you and the rider, which cant have been a very large gap. It amazes me the dangerous things people do |

| I wouldn't have towed him back, he would have been swiming it back to the dock himself. |

My girl and I are learning to board...so we fall a lot. Those idiots run all over the lake... I don't think they are looking where they are going EVER. Almost makes me wish there were designated areas, but that would never work...sorry bout your line man _________________ '08 Mobius LS |

| It seriously amazes me how dumb people are on the lake. The second someone hops on a PWC, I feel like there is some chemical reaction that makes their IQ plummet into the negatives and maturity level go to that of a 4 year old. Unbelievable |

I was on a busy lake this weekend...like you found a nice cove that we ended up sharing for a set or two with a couple other smart drivers. My husband was towing me and I look up and he's standing up at the wheel fanning jet skiiers out of our path. WTF? They're driving hell to breakfast. Next time I fell, husband told me get in the boat-that was all the wakeboarding we did that day. Thankfully we can surf in chop.
Sounds like they were way way too close to you out there.
It baffles me how folks act.
I have a buddy in NH and some of their lakes don't allow PWCs or if they do, it's only limited days of the week. |

| He didnt offer to buy me a new one. I was thinking positive when i was out there THINKING that i could get it out without it ruining it completely. I just cut off all the ruined stuff and just tied it back together and wrapped it in electrical tape haha. still works just fine. I was trying to stay cool, calm, and collected so i didnt get too mad. However the rider that was in the water was as mad as i have ever seen him and let the guy know just what he was thinking about almost dying. |

He's lucky the guy in the water didn't have a shorter temper. It wouldn't be below some people to not let that guy leave without a serious beating.
Nicer way would just be to call the cops on him, file a report, he gets a ticket and you could probably force him to pay for your ruined rope too.
I hate to be prejudice but it does seem rare that a jetskier drives in a mature fashion. I'd really love to see some people change my opinion about them.
Props to you on being as nice as you were to him. I don't know if I would be that nice in real life. I would have been on the phone with the cops at the minimum. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

Congrats on that. I'd have been up that guy's ass and wanting a piece of him. It would've been worth it to me to sacrifice the rope to leave his stupid ass there to teach him a lesson. Maybe I'm a d!ck for that, but to me there is no good explanation for riding that close to someone else. _________________

There is a designated area at Lake Arcadia near my house. Jet Ski area only. All lakes should have them! _________________ _________________

I almost got run over by a jet ski last year. Crashed and came up on my jacket to see this asshat bearing down on me about 20 ft. away, didn't see me and swerve to avoid me till about 5-10 ft. away. Tubers are just as bad or worse. My brother was riding and crashed, as I'm turning around here comes this moron pulling a tube. He was watching his kids on the tube and not were he was going. He was headed straight at my boat, we all started yelling and he turned around in time to see what was going on and cut in between my boat and rider running over my rope. The worst part is there was only 2 boats on the lake, he had plenty of other places he could drive around in retarded sporadic circles. Then idiot has the nerve to turn around and try yelling at us, saying he was going to turn us in to the park ranger...hahaha All the rangers and the lake superintendent are all very close friends of mine. We chased that retard off the lake, and I haven't seen that boat out there again. _________________

I do believe that Tubers are worse. DO not even think about what they are doing to the water, making it as choppy as the ocean, and seem to congregate around other boats. They don't need calm waters! Go to the other side of the lake.

I was doing some research about Arcadia prepping for my move and noticed that. I think the speed limit, designated areas or some sort of certification / training are all good things. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

| My father-in-law bought a boat this summer so we all decided to take the Coast Guard Boating Safely Course. It was the best $40 or so I have ever spent. No one should be allowed to own a boat or a jet ski without taking that course. I can’t for the life of me figure out why it isn’t mandatory in more states. They actually do a whole section on jet boats and jet skis. I recommend even seasoned boaters take the class. I believe like a driver’s license you get a discount on your boat insurance if you've taken the class. |

I've had a few close calls with seadoos too. I try to be nice when I'm on one myself. Hell, I'f I'm just on my way back to the dock I try t throw a nice big wake for the seadoos or tubers to have some fun with.
I have to admit people around my area are generally not too bad on the lake, MOST tubers, stay to one area and the seadoos like to sit there. Every once in a while some douche follows me to my little hiding spots I have at each respective lake and I just stop the boat right in the worst spot and wait till they get frustrated and leave:P
The WORST stories I could tell are about tards at the boat launch. This guy a couple weeks ago took 40 minutes to unload. I was so pissed. The following weekend someone pulls their boat into the launch area still tarped up. I just screamed "it's amazing that retards cant read a sign that CLEARLY says PREP YOUR DAMN BOAT CLEAR OF THE LAUNCH AREA"...Needless to say he got the, not so subtle, hint. |

qballjr13, I agree completely. It has always baffled me that you don't need a boat driver's license. Especially when you consider that you could just as easily kill someone with (or in) your boat as you could in a car accident. _________________
