|
|
Hey guys,
Another noob here. Been lurking for a few weeks, just reading and searching all that I can. And reading great stuff.
Just started boarding 3 weeks ago and been out 4 times. Last time out, got even more comfortable on the board and now have been able to cross back and forth over the wake better and get out into the flats.
The problem now is I get out into the flats and I'm having extreme difficulty initiating the turn either from the left or right side of the boat to cross back over. Just can't seem to figure out what to do to start that movement back in.
In between the wake edges, I'm able to use my edges to carve back and forth, but just cannot seem to make it work out in the flats. Thoughts? |

Go get "The Book" DVD. Get Volume 1 and 2. Work on the edging drills they go over on the video. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

My copy is in the mail. Just trying to find out more and find stuff to read other than doing work. |

Did you look at the newbie forum and look through some of the links in the one sticky? Surf carve might be something to look at. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

| Make sure you're leaning against the rope while edging. It's easy to do right behind the boat because you won't lose tension on the line. Out in the flats if you carve too suddenly or hard you lose line tension and become unbalanced. Make sure your movements in the flats are a lot more gradual. |

Searched through a lot of the posts already and read the stickies. Been on some vendor help pages too. Lots of good stuff out there.
My copy is slated to arrive today.
Yeah, I've noticed that its much more difficult to keep line tension out in the flats. |

Let the boat start to pull you in and then gradually initiate your edge to cut harder. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?
