| i don't really see how many people end up pulling this off. all the stories ive heard about this seem to be smaller kids who are ore flexible then wakeboarders who are much older. has anyone seen this happen to someone and how old were they? what were the circumstances? |

Never had it happen.
A friend of mine had it happen due to only one foot breaking loose from the binding.. |

LOL - yup classic one here - a friend who is 6ft 3 and 40, whilst he was learning accidentally took off on the wake, managed to literally fold himself in half and put the front corner of his board through his forehead. A nice triangular gash, needing 8 stitches - he looked like Frankenstein for a while. How he managed to do this without coming out his bindings is a mystery - we still can't figure it out.
Another friend, 32, trying some tricks, did it the other way, she fell face first and flicked the board up behind her into her head - 4 stitches. _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |

| With a wakeskate? I almost wish it did, then I wouldn't have to swim 40 yards to retrieve the thing. |

I have had it happen twice this year so far, never any other of the 15 years i've been riding.
One was a friend of mine just learning, did a very very small toeside wake jump caught the front edge, board to the back of the head. 8 staples
The other one was me at the cable park here in ohio, I was doing an air backroll. I somehow faceplanted and the board hit the back of my helmet and cracked my helmet, and gave me a little knot on my head.
I am not particularly flexible and im about 5' 11", my buddy who did it behind the boat was a very short guy though, which probably made it easier. |

yep, just wrote a thread about it haha. Took a girl out, 20 years old, caught front edge, came out of bindings, board flies and hits her in the head, 3 staples right above her ear. _________________ mounger25 wrote:
and if that doesn't work get ghetto and use a staple gun.

My sone is almost 14. He nosed it in off a 6" jump, board hit him on the top of the head, never even came off his feet, and he ended up with 3 or 4 staples.
Never happened to me; been wakeboarding for ~20 years... _________________ lovin' life! |
