This is the first time out on a board in over 13 yrs. So how does my hs w2w look. Besides the first one when the driver slowed down on me.

I was going 20.8. I don't even know how long the rope is but I do know it is a cheap $20 rope. That was my first time on my buddy's boat and ssssssssssssshit i am hooked again. We just ordered a good rope and handle and I am going to buy a Slingshot Recoil next week. OOOOOOOOOOOOh my wife is going to love me when she finds out. |

You're edging too hard too fast. I was only watching from my phoone but it looked like the rope slacked a lot every time you started your edge at the wake. Carve out then flatten and let the boat start to pull you back to the wake, then start a soft edge and gradually edge harder and harder. When you hit the wake it should the the most agressive part of the ede and slam your feet into the water. I didn't see problems with you standing tall though. Just try to keep line tension all the way through the edge. |

Thanks. Ya that cheap ass rope will slack even if you don't cut.
One question. What is easier a w2w hs 180 or a w2w ts 180? |

I've used wall mart ropes while wakeboarding. They don't slack like that. They do stretch, but a $150 rope isn't going to stop that problem. Sorry but that's technique, not a problem with the rope. |

From a beginner standpoint (me)...it's easier for me to land HS. So a TS 180 feels more confortable. |

actionmama, Is right. I learned TS FS 1's first, it feels natural because you are twisted cutting in TS. Basically you just un-twist, no real rotation of the body. _________________

It was a joke buddy. | Sorry, I read as far as "that cheap ass rope" and then stopped. Just figured you were one to blame your gear rather then yourself. My apologies.
One of my buddies does this. He bought a nice CWB board and bindings and figured he would magically get more air and actually be able to jump w2w. After his first run on the new board he came to the realization, when it comes to any sport it doesn't matter how much $ you spend, if you suck, you suck.
BTW, I watched the video on my computer now and I still stand by what I said. Your progressive edge isn't progressive enough. It's too agressive at the start. |

I have a similar problem, but my progressive edge is too aggressive shortly after I start edging back into the wake. At first it looks good, but then I edge to aggressively and the rope loses tension. Ever since I injured my ankle (it still hurts after 2 months) I have been doing this.
As Enygma stated, you are cutting back into the wake too early and too aggressively. Flatten out for a couple of seconds to make sure the rope has no slack. |
