|
|
I work on a pump out boat on the weekends. It is a center counsel with a 150 hp outboard. ive thought about bringing my wakeboard to work and it has a tow pylon to hook up to or even hook it up to the top of the center cousel because it has been reinforced last year and might be able to handle the pressure.
well anyways my boat was full of 300 gallons of poop and it was hard to get on plane. i had to leave the helm and stand in the front of the boat for a while and it finally made it. i looked back and the poop acted like a nice ballast system and the wake wasnt half bad for an outboard. i look a cell phone pic and it didnt come out good or justify how good the wake looked. but here it is:

Would prlly be bigger if it wasnt so choppy. Poop for ballast just doesnt sound that appealing I'll stick to boobs for ballast.

LMAO..... That's a sh1tty ballast system Sorry....had to
Don't know anything about pump boats, but I have ridden behind a out board bass boat. It took a long time to plane up also, because of the 24 pitch prop. It beat the hell outta me. You'll have to stay in the squatted position for a lot longer, and then it's real slow to pick up speed. Waiting for the boat to plane out and pick up speed makes it hard to control the board and keep it from going under. It seemed to work better if I just held a butter slide till the boat planed out.
Looks like once you get 'er going you'll have a decent wake to work with, just hope your "ballast" doesn't spring a leak, or you'll be in deep.......ok I'll quit
