| I've been riding a Hyperlite big air 144 thats my buddies for 2 summers & want to buy my own but not sure what to buy. I thought about buying a used one from ebay to save some $$$ & be able to buy a new advanced one when I get better . Im a intermediate that's still working on 180's & dont want to advanced board for me. Im 6'1", 205lbs. Being that so many changes on boards & bindings from year to year its hard to know what to look for. Hyperlite is what I perfer but they really didnt help me much on the phone since I was buying a used board & they would only tell me about the 2010 baords & bindings. I would like to go shorter on the board & some good bindings. |

| You really don't want to go much shorter than 141 for your height/weight. You might be able to get a 138, but 141/142 is probably the sweet spot for guys like you. It's what I've seen get recommended to just about anyone 6'+ and about 180+ on these forums. I would think that you could research the 2010 boards and maybe find an older model somewhere. They don't tend to change drastically from year to year. You could go back to probably a 2008 board and it will be 90% the same as the 2010. You can look here ( http://www.wakeworld.com/products/index.php?l=product_list&c=1 ) for specs on what seems like every board made since 1996, plus bindings going back over 10 years. If you feel comfortable with Hyperlite then go with them, but in reality you can't go wrong with any of the major brands. Hyperlite, Liquid Force, CWB, Ronix, etc. |

I ride a '09 HL Premier 141 and really like it. I'm thinking about going to a Murray and may be interested in selling it. I had an '07 and broke it at the beginning of last season, HL replaced it even though I didn't buy it through a dealer. It's a good intermediate deck. _________________
