hey guys, just after some advive if possible... i use to have a 19foot older style ski boat witha fat sack and i rode very consistent. FS360, tantrums and some nice shiftys etc. 4 months ago i bought a aussie made Matrix MVS wake boat. 22foot with trim tabs and 2200pound ballast system. Great boat! but we load the ballast up and ride at 20.5mph and feel like were flying (fast) also the wake is really lippy(steep) and my riding seems to have gone backwards... do u think we should ride with no ballast for a few months till we get use to the bigger wake and then add ballast lately on???
any thoughts would be great...
cheers!

Takes some tie to adjust try filling the ballast half full. The more weight your ride with the faster you have to go. Also you might need to change your rope length to find that sweet spot on the boat my guess would be farther back. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

| 20.5 is fairly slow for an matrix mvs with that amount of weight, speed up about 1-2 mph it will really make a huge difference, you will find that you wake jumps will become easier and you will get more hang time |

it does take time to adjust to a bigger wake. I came off an I/O and when I rode the bu for the first time I was adjusting to the wake. It shouldn't take you more than a couple weeks to adjust though. Congrats on a sweet boat though
I would also guess 20 mph is too slow. But if it feels like you're flying you're probably going to have to slowly work yourself up to faster speeds. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

get your nose down.
trim tabs to bring the nose down, and remove rear weight too if needed. removes the top lip from the wake. and try 21.5-22 mph as a last resort _________________

This.
I have a 22 ft supra with 2600lbs of ballast. Make sure your ballast distribution is 60/40 stern/bow. Ride at 21.5-22.0 with the trim set to get than bow buried. |
