Just got a pair of Pro-80s and a WS-420. I'm not sure how best to get the speaker wires through the tower and into the boat. I can see where the tower attaches to the boat under the dash. There is no hole to run wires through. Do I need to remove the tower ad drill a hole through the hull into the bottom of the tower base?

2002 XStar with zero flex tower... 205V hull.

Thanks

I can't offer any help with getting the wires through the hull since I'm not familiar with that tower or boat. I however did have to drill a hole through my hull and there was already a hole in the tower leg.

What I wanted to share was using kite string and a shop vac to suck the pull string through the tower to pull the speaker wires. I'd also recommend some of the silicone lube on the speaker cables to make it easier to pull the wires up the tower.

Good luck!

Drill two holes in the top of the tower and one hole in the bottom leg. I used some mig welding wire. Cut off a 8 foot section and tied the speaker wire to the end of the wire and pulled it through. Drilled a hole in the boat next to the leg and fed the wire through to the head unit/amp. Used rubber grommets to clean up the holes, and added marine sealer to the hole in the side of the boat.
