Manute Bol (90s NBA star) died today. I met him about 8 months ago in DC; very nice humble fellow. I watched him give up a seat on a hotel shuttle to an older lady. He did lots of charity work in/for his native Sudan. Sad to see he passed in his 40s.
So long to a good guy.

Here is a picture of him with his family just before he died. He is the 6th one from the left-kinda hard to tell him apart from the others.

I get your point. I was afraid we were getting too uptight over a little good humor is all.
Just so nobody thinks I'm claiming my post above as some super-original joke, I'm old enough to remember the following joke we used to make as kids using a UPC bar code from back when USA for Africa's "We Are the World" was popular:
"Know that this is?"
"No, what is it?"
"An Ethiopian family photo."
Racist? Maybe
Funny? Absolutely
Was Manute Bol Ethiopian? IDK. I don't care. I don't want to ruin the joke.
But regardless, RIP Manute. You always made me laugh.

| I was a little disappointed that yesterday SportsCenter spent an equal amount of time talking about Manute and his contributions to Sudan as they did asking Serena Williams if the US got robbed in the Slovenia game.
