Yes, that boat is VERY large for her. Something in the 130-134 cm length would probably be better. I'd lean toward the 134 side because she is tall.

Can't recommend a specific binding, but I will say that you get what you pay for when it comes to comfort and durability. To me, comfort is the #1 thing over cost or anything else. If your bindings hurt, you can't ride as long and that means you don't progress as quickly. In my mind, it shouldn't hurt to ride-it should only hurt to fall. Very Happy

5'11' - she's very tall! A 130-134 would be too small for her given her height., it might be a good size for her weight, but she'll find the balance off because it would be too short. I'm 5'5" and I ride a 136. I'd say a 136 at least would be a better option, because she'll also need a fairly wide stance because of those long legs - trust me one of my girlfriends is 6ft - anything smaller than that and she struggles big time.

As an aside note - and please don't take this as offence - she is extremely light for her height, not a healthy weight at all.

She'd probably do well with a 134/136. If she's tall, she probably has long legs and a wide stance. So keep that in mind when looking for a board.

You could take her to a board shop, or just some sports store that sells boards like Dick's or Sports Authority, and have her stand on a board to get an idea of what fits her and her stance.

If anything, you'd want a board on the long side, instead of the short side because longer boards are easier to ride. They plane out easily, track well and make for softer landings. Just keep in mind that you don't want a board that's too big, like the 142, or else she will have a hard time maneuvering it around.

I personally like CWB Sapphire. It's easy to ride and progress on. - http://www.boardstop.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_141&products_id=4890
