Hello all, first time poster looking for some advice.

Friend and I are getting into wakeboarding and using his Horizon 180 (4.3L engine) with wakeboard tower.

Having a slight problem with comfortable riding speed however, notably keeping the boat on a clean plane at the lower speeds. Whilst driving for my friend the boat is pretty comfortably sitting at 22mph with clean wake.

Im a bit heavier though, weighing about 220 pounds, and feel like the boat needs a bit more power towing me to keep on the plane. We therefore end up towing me closer to 25mph, which feels a bit fast.

Can any of you with similar experiences suggest ways to improve our ride?

Any advice much appreciated.

I have an I/O as well its a Monterey 194fs with a 5.0L MPI. But to answer your question what we used to do before we bought perfect pass (which is worth its weight in gold!) is we switched to a hi-five 19p prop. This helped the hole shot as well as maintaining a slightly slower tow speed. As well we used to go out riding with 4-5 people. We always had 2 in the bow, seemed to help the boat stay on plane just a touch easier.
