Looking for speakers for the cockpit area of my fishing boat. I was interested in the JL Audio 7.7" speakers, but several have recommended DC Gold reference series. Any opinions? _________________

http://www.wetsounds.com/pages/products/SW-650-W.html
We just released our new Salt Water series of in boat speakers built for fishing boats.
I see you are in Houston. Our main office is in Houston as well, call the office at 877-938-7757 and tell us what side of town you are on. We have dealers all over and can get you in touch with one to go listen to them.
The SW-650 is the same build as our XS-650 with the different grille. So you get the same amazing output.

| The XS650's have a totally different sound then any of the speakers mentioned in the OP. You should check out a dealer and listen to them to see if they'll work for you. I think the WS are cheaper then the JL's also. |

I was not sure if a HLCD speaker would be right for me, hence the reason I did not include WS speakers in the OP. I appreciate the offer to go have a listen in person, I'll give the office a call. Anyone else have a preference on a SQ (non-HLCD speaker)? _________________

| The in-boat speakers from WS are not HLCD's. |

Rampage,
Wet Sounds has a full line of interior SQ speakers in many different styles and price points. The XS series is an open grille style in silver with silver or black cones, the SW is the closed grille style in white or black.
For your boat, you would most likely go for the SW-65 or SW-650. Both look the same with the 650 being the higher powered speaker
We offer non HLCD tower speakers as well.
Tim
