Yesterday me and a buddy were out practicing double ups, and on my last double up everything went normal, I hit it fine, when i landed, i landed normal, however i heard my knee pop and i fell. My leg was in pain from my knee down, but a minute later the pain was almost gone. I have no swelling and can walk almost fine, however if i have my knee extended and twist my foot it hurts in my knee. Im headed to a doctor in 2 days but i want to know if anyone has had this happen before, and if so, what was it.

good luck man... pray that its an MCL or LCL... they can be stitched back up and they will heal... not so much on the ACL/PCL..

Could be a torn meniscus too.... any instability when you walk/run/jump?

It really doesnt feel too instable when i walk. It feels alot right now like when you sprain your ankle and cant walk on it for 30 minutes or so and the initail pain goes away after 5 minutes.

Where exactly does your knee hurt? Do you have a lot of swelling along the medial (inside) of your knee? Can you touch where it hurts or is it deeper than that? Any bruising? If there's bruising, it's not meniscus because the meniscus doesn't bleed.

If you have an MCL tear they won't do surgery, just brace it and treat you conservatively

torn MCL's are very painful and usually have a ton of swelling.

sounds more like the meniscus. basically when you extend your leg then rotate your foot, you are grinding the meniscus, and if there is a tear, you will feel pain.

After researching it more, I think its the ACL rather than MCL. I dont have much swelling at all, however either way im done for the season. Right now its more tight than anything, making it harder to walk. I have an MRI tomorrow so il find out more in detail exactly what is up with my knee.

If you tore your ACL you would be seriously unstable... like walking on marbles (when you first tore it)... eventualy your muscle makes up for it and your knee would become more stable.

Simple test for ACL... sit in a chair and let your leg go limp... grab the top of your shin and pull/push back and forth... if you have alot of movement (1/2" +) then you have a torn ACL... its prety definitive... you dont usually NEED an MRI to tell you that you have a torn ACL.... its usually pretty obvious.
