I am looking to get a new boat because I can't stand I/O's and all their problems. My next boat will def be an inboard. I go boating in a river which is calm but i also go out into long island sound which can get choppy. I wakeboard but am not 100% serious about it. i just like to shred with my friends here and there. I would take a non-wakeboarding boat and throw a tower on it and be happy with it.

I have noticed many wakeboard boats are not designed for rough water because of their hull design and how low they sit in the water. My question is, what boats (wakeboard boat or not) will be an inboard and a bowrider between 17-25 feet but be able to take it out in choppy waters (1-4 feet)?

Also if someone is trying to get rid of a boat like this I might be interested. even if it has a blown motor i will take it because i have a new motor laying around.[/b]

Anything above 2.5'-3' is more than "chop". I have a 23' Moomba XLV and I still take a beating when my lake is white capping. There isn't a wakeboat made that will take 3-4ft choppy conditions and hold up long. Most of us inboard owners tend to think of anything more than ripples on the water as chop so that's anything over a foot. My 23' boat does much better than the 20-22ft inboard boats but there are actually runabouts that do better than me and they are only 18ft but it has to do with hull shape. I would say the Centurion Enzo 230 or 240, Sanger 237, MB Sports (they have pretty deep v in the bow), Supra 24ssv, Malibu has a couple 23-24 boats, so you do have plenty of choices.

3-4 is more on the extreme end of it. its usually 0.5-2.5 but im used to the ocean which is more than that so that is just a choppy day for me. but thanks for the input
