I've always thought dry starts look stylish and fun but haven't ever tried it. I'm going to give it a whirl tomorrow but I've only seen it done on a few videos and haven't read any tips at all.
I assume it's mostly just good timing with the driver and lean back.

Anybody got anything to share?

Don't lean back while on the dock. Let the driver idle foward and when its tight hang on a few seconds longer to the point were you are bending foward at the waist a little and then hope in. At the same time you hope in the driver needs to get going so when you land you don't sink to much.

Also, and make sure you do this, make sure your board is a few inches off the edge of the dock. I know some docks have a rubber lip around them. This few inches off the edge of the dock will keep you from accidently grabbing the edge of the dock when you hope and face planting.

Watch this video and note how Murray gets in. It's at :36 seconds

Dredd, when the line gets tight, jump in, keep your weight back, and hold on to the rope. Keep your toes up, and in the same stance as when you are halfway pulled out of the water in a normal start behind a boat, and you'll probably come close.

You don't have to worry about hitting your head on the dock you jump off of because you just have to hang on long enough to fall forward if you need to Wink
