| Why wouldnt you want a nice, large knee high steep ramp to jump from? Just my logic though. Unless you want to slolam ski, you'll find that the opinion of pretty much every other person on this forum

Don't try and learn with a small wake...you will learn bad techniques.
At least start out with a medium sized wake.
Don't ask me what medium sized means...maybe with just 1000 pounds in the boat.

you got it half right. Learn on what ever you can get your hands on. If you are priveleged to have a decent boat that has the ability to throw a good wake then you dont need a huge wake to learn on. The wake should grow with your ability.

A huge wake actually teaches you horrible technique, There is much more room for error.

That doesn't make any sense. You can have a very steep, rampy wake. Rampy wakes are still as tall as vert wakes, just shaped differently.

| I think a Super Airs wake is perfect. Huge, solid, and vert.

My boat that i am trying to sell right now has a small but well shaped wake. I actually learned a crap load so that now behind a nice wake I am going bigger than everyone else i ride with!!!!
In hindsight I'm actually glad I learned behind it!

I love the kick from the SAN but I hate not being able to clear the wake every time. Casing it hurts. I think I like malibu's a little better, that or i need to ride a bit faster.

It all depends on what feels comfortable for you. Try all of them, joining an INT league is a great place to experience all the wakes. Usually 1 each event is sponsored by a different manufacturer. This pic is from a Malibu VLX with factory weight, no wedge and 3 people on board. Remember it really is more important to load up the line than it is to have a 3 foot wake to hit.
