|
|
I am getting used to cable riding, can hit the kickers and starting to learn sliding. I tried the table top first:
I thought b/c it was smaller it would be the easiest to learn, the ramp to it is short and steep, I seem to get pulled off it every time, or slide off to the inside.
I tried the fun box on Nessy:
and I rode away on 3rd attempt. Do I need to pull the handle in closer, and try to hold it there? Or should I be doing an ollie onto the table? Any hints would be great. |

| It's probably your approach more than anything. Try to follow a couple people's lines in to it until you get it down. |

Its soo easy hitting obstacles, youll feel that soon enough. The hardest part is just the approach. _________________

| Medina, help me hit the shitty funbox at Ski Rixen please. It's simply a short steep ramp onto a 15 foot floor than a small ramp off the end. I've seen some friends try and they just go off the first ramp and faceplant on the floor. Can you tell me how to approach this right? That's probably the hardest part |

| isuckatwakin, Sounds like they're hitting it while still edging. Make sure to cut out to it and right before you hit it, flatten off. absorb some of the first incline with your knees so you don't pop off the ramp (don't break at the waist). You might have to try it a few times to get used to it but keep at it. It should come pretty quickly. |

Ideally you want to take a pretty mellow edge and at the last second, flatten off. If you flatten off too early, you'll get pulled off of the box before you reach the end. Conversely, if you take a really hard edge, you'll just go over the other side. You really just need to try it a few times to figure out the sweet spot.
I always picture myself edging out towards the rail and visualize the apex of my edge being just after the beginning of the rail. just think of that next time and be sure to flatten off. |

thanks this helped a lot. I went today and I was able to stomp 180s on the kicker with this method, and could ride up and slide across the funbox too (nessy), but the table top I still seem to be getting pulled off too early. I feel like no matter what I do in the water, I am going so much faster once on the obsticles and loose control.... It was good to catch a session with almost no one there, was able to keep going without waiting, that might help some of you other guys, go on an off time. |

| I rode like 5-6pm. It was a great crowd, just got to ride over and over. If it was working me, instead of the other way, then yeah that was me, haha. I was feeling everything else, but that thing hates me. |
