Is the boat a v-drive or a direct drive?

mister C-
If it is an 83, then it is for sure a direct drive.

89comp, sorry, but I only got into the sport 3 years ago and Im not quite up to date on the history of boats and stuff.

wakeboarderss, If you can afford it, you should look into putting some weight on either side of the engine cover. This will help your wake size and a little help on the shape. Make sure its balanced though or else one wake will be bigger than the other.

You want about a 60/40 ratio give or take.

BIGMAC, meaning 60% of the weight in back, 40% in the front.

some lead and people spread throughout the boat will help too. but it sounds like you have the right idea.

well this boat i heavy. I'm talkin it sits pretty high in the water with 1000lbs in it. Do u think if I bought two 350ld side sas and put them on either side of the engine cover id be set. It would really help balance weight i think.

it depends where the 1000lbs is located. if you are going to have 1700 lbs you want about 1000 in the back and 700 up front for that 60 40 ratio.

Would the side sacs count as back, front or just middle weight? Because if they count as like "middle" weight then the best combo would be something like 700 in the back 350 in the front, and the two 350 side sacks. That would be 1750 pounds distributed well.
