I wonder if you got the same fantastic service from raul as I did. He was very friendly and the tower is well built and very nice considering the price. Even in a couple feet of chop the tower didn't creak or rattle. I'm very pleased with the results.

brichter14, lol my buddy asked me how long we had to stay in that pose for it to end up on the lapse.....we stood there for over a min.... Laughing

Enygma, I only had to talk to him once, and he was very nice and accommodating. The only issue I had is drilling the top pull bar holes in the legs...what a pita.... Other than that, its real real nice!

Nice. That tower looks good on your boat. Did you put any reinforcement behind the mounts?

if I remember correctly the tower package came with reinforcement. Just some bars that go from bolt to bolt on the back to help distribute the tension more evenly....anyways I'm 99% sure the tower came with them...

Okie Boarder, yeah exactly as Enygma, said. There are two plates per mounting point that are just 1"x4" 1/4" thick.

Thanks! I'm real happy on how it looks!

Once my folks decide it's not going to snow or freeze here anymore I'll snap a pic of my DIYwake tower too. I'm very pleased with the results. Probably be some time this week. We went for the loaded package that came with speakers, lights, racks and a mirror.

Some final pics. The racks arn't on however.
Enygma, how do the speakers sound? I was thinking about that total combo but I wasn't real sure how they would sound....

Haven't hooked up the speakers yet, we got the tower at the end of last year and I only got 2 days to use so we didn't bother with accessories. But the speakers he sent were polk audio, which is a great company. At least their home audio is great, I'm kinda looking for a 4 channel amp to hook them up with. I suspect I wont be able to hear them if I just tie into the rear speakers off the cd player.

Tower looks great. Is that a home made swim platform? looks like plexiglass top...kind of a neat idea.

That front view looks like it is sitting a little wide. Is the pitch of the sides adjustable? IMO, it would look better if you rolled it in a bit to try to match up with the angle of the windshield.

ryan351w, looks really good!

Does the buddy that helped you with the tower, does he ride? Just wondering because I've got a friend that won't try to wakeboard because he thinks it'll be to much stress transferred through his prothesis into his hip. If you had some video I could show him of your friend maybe he'd quit drinking all my beer and get behind the boat!

Enygma, Nope thats the factory platform
Okie Boarder, yeah i know but i can't. Thats the only way to get it to fit. The tower is designed for a 74" min beam. Mine is at 70" right there. Only other option was to move it back 6-8" and to me thats not an option.
boardordie, OH YEAH HE DOES! Loves it! I'll direct him to this thread and he can answer your buddies questions with more detail than I can. BTW where is the amputation? Above or below the knee?

ryan351w, That'd be great! Buddies is above the knee... IED flipped his hummer on patrol when he was over in the big sandbox. Couldn't tell in the video link above (to many scene cuts to fast), but it looked like that guy was below the knee. I think I've talked my buddy into riding the foil/air chair/sky ski so he's at least getting out there!

boardordie, Yeah his is just below the knee. I've got a buddy who is paralyzed waist down. He had a custom ski/wakeboard made. Its got like an air chair seat thats 10" or so above the deck, LETS GO! Very Happy

Damn that sucks about your buddy though, you gotta do whatever you can to get him behind the boat, I don't need to tell you its like nothing else.
