Same here, unless theres some hot chicks on the boat I'll let some not so good people go first, and then I'll go. Makes me look even better Laughing I always like the looks and yells from them when I do a flip for the first time. Cool

I LOVE to go first on any boat Laughing Most gas, fresh water, and I'm always excited to ride when I step on the boat. Anytime that I go first is on the following basis:

-Boat owner shuts off boat, asks who is going, and when nobody speaks up, I go ahead and start getting ready with a big smile on my face Very Happy
-Boat owner knows I put in gas for two sets and I ask if it's cool to go first/second since I'm going to ride later and want to chill between sets
-Out with friends at school, either me or my friend who owns the boat go first since we each ride two sets per time out
-With the family, I always go first Wink

When I'm not first to go it's no big deal at all and I don't push it to go. I'm always happy to chill on the boat with people and will watch everyone and wait my turn without problems. When it's our boat and there's people out with us, I always let everyone else go first and finish with my set.

It's not often that anyone that I ride with is super amped to take a set. We're all there to ride, but it's rare that anyone actually asks to ride first. But we also ride on a body of water that is flat enough for us to ride all day long, so conditions aren't much of an issue. Sometimes someone will get antsy and decide to ride in a section of water that is 'good enough' but that's probably about it. On the jetski (we all wakeskate) someone is more likely to ask if they can ride first.

Even though it's my boat I always offer up first ride to the rest of the crew. I always take the last set of the day though.

JeffreyCH, This is how my buddy is. It is his boat, but he seems to prefer to go last. Four years of riding with him, and I still occassionally ask if he wants to go first. He always declines, so I think he just prefers to go last.

Ultimately I think it should always be the boat owners call.

I sometimes get nervous for whatever reason and want to go first just to het my first set out of the way. I know that's rediculious but it happens.

Also alot of the guys I ride with are so much better than me i ride first so I can work on my ts stuff before we put an extra 3k in the boat. Saves gas for sure.

Sometimes two of us jump in and ride doubles first and just goof off playing horse with basic tricks and grabs to knock the rust off.

When our normal 3 guys go out it's just whom ever wants to get in first or who isn't drinking a fresh beer. If everyone has a fresh one then we play rock sham bo to see who's going in first. Laughing

I always go first in my family, and usually ~3rd or 4th too. Usually 'cuz it is only going to get rougher thru the day and I'm the only "serious" rider, using that term loosely, and that I'm going to be sitting in the drivers seat for the next 3-5 hours... Might as well get tired & not need to get up Wink

Me, it's my boat and my fuel so I ride when I want. Very Happy

My close friends ride with me most weekends, although I'm fortunate enough to earn really well, they aren't so everything is paid for by me and we stay at my cabin.

I like riding first as we often start very early in the morning and that first boat on the clear lake feeling is awesome.

None of them complain or argue, they get free riding all weekend 3 weekends out of 4!

It's my boat, but I typically ask "who wants to go first". Since I typically ride with newer people I get blank stares and timid looks. So I typically go first to "show them examples of getting up".

Fine by me, I need to get it out of my system anyway Wink

If someone who really likes to ride is out (but they don't come out that often, they almost always jump at the chance and then they'll be going first. Had it turn out that he went first, then lightning came and we had to leave before I ever got to ride. Now *that* ticked me off.

We usually make the biggest guy at the beginning and end of the season. Here in IN the water gets warm late and cold early. If they can't take the cold we know we can't. (It's all in good fun)

Well depending on whether or not I have more than just my father on the boat I will take first set, and maybe push it into a figurative two sets because it is just two of us most of the time. I usually take the first and last pass behind the boat.

If we had a group of people I would want to go last no matter what the water condition is like because I like to watch and learn. I am like a sponge when it comes to learning new tricks and tweaks, only if I can watch someone else do it first!!!

Depends on the water and wind. If it's butter, I'm on it (boat owner). If it's choppy & windy, we make the newb go first since they don't know the difference anyway. Plus, it makes my basic riding look impressive.

we used to play mario kart back in the day, and who ever losses make them go first, reason is because once your done you get to sit wet and cold in the boat the longest, good times..

Depends on the water & conditions & weather too.

If its freezing I'll go last so I dont have to drive the boat all soaking wet

If the waters freezing.. I might not even jump in

If it's kinda rough but I see flatter water up ahead.. send someone else in there to ride

on my boat, we have a few waterskiiers so usually if its an early morning set we let them go first, but as soon as the ballast tanks get filled I usually end up going first because its my board we use and nobody has the nuts to say that they want to use my board before me. I love the last set of the night, though as the suns goin down, water is straight glass. doesnt get much better than that.

I usually don't worry about who rides when, and I don't think I've noticed any consistency with who prefers when with the people I ride with. If I get nominated to ride first I go ride, if someone wants to go I let them go.

I dont understand the whole "my boat, my rules" thing that much. I just want to have fun with buddies out on the lake. Sometimes driving monster double-ups can be the funnest part of your day Mr. Green

I tend to send the noobies out first, after that it doesn't really matter who goes. As others have said, I'm out there for a good time and some funny crashes.

I think the boat owner makes it known if he wants to go first, so I don't really worry about it. I don't care to go first most days because I like to sit, relax, and acclimate to the conditions. (In layman's terms, I have a cold one) Whoever suits up gets the first pull. Everyone seems to ride as long as they want during their set, so I don't see why it matters.
